# Turn your novel into an audiobook

Journzy lets you create an AI audiobook of your novel chapter by chapter, with custom voices and control over pronunciation. It is sold separately from the subscription, and you see the price before you produce.

## An AI audiobook, chapter by chapter

Journzy produces the audiobook by chapter. You produce one, listen to it and review it before you move on to the next. The audio comes from the text of your book, exactly as you wrote it.

You get one audio file per chapter, checked by you before you continue. The AI reads your text aloud and does not change it.

## AI audiobook narration with custom voices

You choose your audiobook voice. You can also work with custom voices. Proper names and invented places may not sound the way you imagined them. Journzy lets you adjust the pronunciation and listen before you approve the chapter.

## Write now, produce when you are ready

Start on the Free plan. The audiobook is sold separately, and you see the price before you produce.

## Why the audiobook is sold separately

Voice production costs money for every hour of audio, so the subscription never includes synthesis. You pay for the audiobook per production. Sold separately; you see the price before you produce.

The audiobook works with the Free plan and with the Author plan, and neither one includes it. You can write, share and export your book without buying it. Plan details are on the [pricing page](https://journzy.com/en/pricing).

## Your book in text and in audio

The same book can come out as an EPUB, a print PDF, a DOCX and an audiobook. Format and export the text on the [export page](https://journzy.com/en/features/export) and design your cover on the [covers page](https://journzy.com/en/features/book-covers). The audio follows the order of your chapters.

## How it works

1. Finish the chapter in Journzy.
2. Choose the voice for your audiobook.
3. You see the price before you produce.
4. Produce the chapter and listen to it.
5. Adjust the pronunciation if you need to, and move on to the next chapter.

## Your book, ready to listen to

## Frequently asked questions

How much does an audiobook cost?

It is sold separately, and you see the price before you produce. The subscription never includes the cost of voice synthesis.

Is it included in the Author plan?

No. Author includes the studio's AI, but the audiobook is sold separately, whether you are on the Free plan or the Author plan.

Can I produce a single chapter?

Yes. Production is chapter by chapter: you listen to and review each one before you move on.

Does the AI change my text when it narrates?

No. The AI reads your text exactly as you wrote it. Journzy never writes or rewrites your text.
