# A worldbuilding tool for every genre

Journzy is a worldbuilding tool for any genre: cultures, religions, magic systems, species and factions in entries you customize, plus interactive maps that nest inside each other. It is all Free except the AI map editor.

## A worldbuilding app with one core for every genre

A fantasy novel needs magic systems. A realist novel needs institutions, trades and neighborhoods. Journzy uses the same core for both: entry types with the fields you decide.

- **Custom entity types and fields (Free).** Create your own type with text, date, number and list fields, links to characters, places or other entries, or images. Create up to 40 types, with 40 fields per type and 5,000 entries per project.
- **Ten ready-made modules (Free).** Culture, religion, magic system, species, language, faction, power system, flora, fauna and object. Each module comes with fields you can rename, hide, reorder or extend. Characters and places are the first two modules and keep their own screens.
- **Facts that change with the story (Free).** As on character sheets, each change asks from which point in the story it applies, and it shows in the Timeline.

## Interactive, nested maps for any world

A world rarely fits on one map. You have a continent, a kingdom and a city. Journzy maps are interactive and nest, so a place on one map can open its own map.

- **AI map editor (Author).** Draw a sketch, tag what each area is, choose a style and generate the map from your drawing. You then place and tag it like any other map.

## You decide what the AI reads in your world

Every field has an “AI can read” switch. Author's AI reads only the fields you switch on, as of the point in the story you're working on, and cites the entry it read. Images never go to the AI, and the AI never writes or describes your world.

- **Archive, not delete (Free).** Archive sends an entry to the recovery bin for 30 days.

## How it works

1. Open World in the sidebar and pick a module, or create a type of your own.
2. Fill in the fields that help you and hide the rest.
3. Link each entry to characters, places or other entries.
4. Create a map, place its locations and open one map inside another when you need to.
5. With Author, start from a sketch, choose a style and generate the map.

## Frequently asked questions

Does it work for non-fantasy novels?

Yes. The core is the same for every genre. A realist novel can use factions, objects and cultures, or create its own types such as “Neighborhood” or “Institution”.

Is it free?

Custom types, the ten modules and interactive, nested maps are Free and never expire. The AI map editor is part of Author.

Does the AI invent my world?

No. The AI never writes, expands or describes your world. It reads only the fields you mark “AI can read” and cites the entry it read.

Can I create my own entry type?

Yes. Choose “Custom type” and add your fields, with labels in English and Spanish. You can also add fields to the character and place sheets.

What does the AI map editor do?

It starts from your sketch. You tag the areas, choose a style and Journzy generates the map. Your drawing leads, and the result is placed and tagged like any other map.
